To maintain and manage hair cuts on dogs you would want to get them groomed every 4-6
weeks. It is always best to brush daily to prevent knotting and matting. For breeds that have short hair that shed a lot you can get them groomed about every 6-8 weeks or as often as
needed.
Your dog’s nails should be trimmed every 2-4 weeks or as often as needed. Some dog nails
grow faster than others. The more we cut the nail back the further we can get the vein to go back to make the nail shorter.
It is best to get your puppy introduced to grooming at 12-16 weeks. That way they learn at an early age that grooming is a fun experience
It usually takes around 3-4 hours to get your dog groomed. It all depends on how the dog likes the blow dryer and the grooming. If the dog is done sooner we will let you know.
A matted coat is painful and it can lead to skin irritation. Matting is so uncomfortable for the dog because it pulls on the skin. One important rule is to not bathe a matted dog. Bathing a matted dog makes the matts tighter to the skin. The only way to get the matting out is to have a blade that is short enough to get underneath the matting. If the dog has a few knots or tangles then yes we can brush them out. We just want to do what’s best for the dog that doesn’t cause any pain.
